LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a no cost, 12-week program designed to help cancer survivors regain strength, confidence, and overall well-being. Through specialized exercise, support, and community connection, participants improve endurance, flexibility, and quality of life in a safe, supportive environment. Led by certified instructors, this program focuses on rebuilding both physical and emotional health after a cancer diagnosis.

Each cancer survivor will receive a YMCA membership at no cost during the program. Survivors experience all aspects of the Y – pickleball, group fitness classes, group support, and those who graduate can join our volunteer led alumni group “Living Stronger”

LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA Frequently Asked Questions

The program is open to any individual who has been diagnosed with cancer, whether they are currently in treatment or years into remission. No prior fitness experience is required.

The program meets twice per week for 90-minute sessions over the course of 12 weeks. Sessions are led by certified fitness instructors trained in cancer survivorship, post-rehabilitation exercise, and supportive cancer care.

Yes, all participants must provide medical clearance from their physician before beginning the program.

The program is no cost to participants, thanks to generous donors and community support.

No, a YMCA membership is not required to participate in the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. However, participants will receive a no cost YMCA membership for the duration of the program.
