Our Aging Well Adults program keeps seniors active and connected through hikes, field trips, book clubs, and more. With a focus on staying engaged both physically and socially, this program offers a supportive community where older adults thrive together. Membership is not required for participation in community health programs.

More LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free program. This 12-week program for cancer survivors, offers strength training, cardio, balance, and flexibility exercises. The group meets twice for 90-minute sessions per week, participants improve fitness, reduce fatigue, and enhance overall quality of life. Membership is not required for participation in community health programs.

Living Stronger

Living Stronger is an alumni program for graduates of LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. It helps survivors stay connected with each other and current participants through fitness activities, special events, and social gatherings, providing continued support and encouragement on their wellness journey. Membership is not required for participation in community health programs.

More Rock Steady Boxing

Rock Steady Boxing

Rock Steady Boxing improves the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s through non-contact, boxing-inspired training. This program builds strength, flexibility, and speed, empowering participants to fight back. Led by expert coaches, it offers ongoing classes for improved well-being. Membership is not required for participation in community health programs.

Parkinson's Support Groups

The YMCA of Central Virginia offers monthly Parkinson’s support groups at the YMCA on Old Forest Road, open to all. Individuals with Parkinson’s meet every third Tuesday from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, and caregivers meet the first Monday of each month from 1:00–2:30 PM. These groups provide a welcoming space to share, connect, and navigate the journey together.
