Fight Back Against Parkinson’s!
Rock Steady Boxing uses non-contact, boxing-inspired exercises to help people with Parkinson’s improve balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and confidence. Research shows that intense exercise can help slow the progression of symptoms, with participants often experiencing improvements in mobility, posture, speech, mood, and overall quality of life.
At the YMCA of Central Virginia, Rock Steady Boxing supports more than 40 participants and is powered by 25 dedicated volunteers, including students from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to classes, the program offers a monthly Parkinson’s Support Group and other opportunities for connection and support.
This year, we’re joining Rock Steady Boxing Headquarters in the national Fight Back Against Parkinson’s fundraiser. Funds raised will support our local Rock Steady Boxing community while contributing to the broader mission to bring hope to those living with Parkinson’s.
Join us for an evening of community and impact. Doors open at 4pm for a punch-a-thon, silent auction, food, and more, with live music from 5–7pm.
